Accordion

An accordion is a musical instrument that you hold in your hands and looks like a huge box. The accordion is played by pushing the two sides together and apart while pressing keys or buttons on either side. Traditional popular music is played on accordions in particular. Learning accordion requires dedication.

The accordion is a reed instrument with freely vibrating reeds that can be carried around. It is made out of retractable bellows that connect the keyboard and brass casings. Metal reeds are contained within the instrument and produce sound when air, generated by the bellows movement, flows around them and causes them to vibrate.

The expanded bellows and the two wooden end components known as the treble and bass ends are the three main elements of a modern accordion. A keyboard is affixed to the accordion's treble end. There are finger buttons on the bass end that play bass notes and chords.

Immediately below the reed, there is a slot that permits air to pass through the bellows as well. The reed vibrates when air goes through this slot in the proper, producing the distinctive accordion sound. Because the reed just bends instead of vibrating, air traveling in the opposite direction does not produce sound.

On the treble or bass blocks, each of the individual reeds is assigned a key or many buttons on the bass keyboard. The pitch of the note is determined by the length and thickness of the reed. There may be many trebles and bass reed blocks, depending on the accordion-type. SoulFul Musik Academy offers simplified online accordion classes for beginners to master accordions step by step.
