CLP-845R, CLP-765GP & CLP-S308
A practical Clavinova guide covering model features, specifications, current and legacy availability, buying research, pre-owned options, rental, repair, piano learning and musical use in Goregaon, Mumbai, India and online.
The CLP-845R is the current-generation model in this three-model guide and has a current Yamaha Music Store India listing. The CLP-765GP is an older grand-style Clavinova that Yamaha India marks discontinued, while the CLP-S308 is a much older slimline Clavinova documented in Yamaha's legacy manual library. Use the model sections below to research features, ownership paths and support options.
Yamaha Clavinova Digital Pianos: What This Guide Covers
This page brings three specific Yamaha Clavinova models into one research destination: the CLP-845R, CLP-765GP and CLP-S308. The objective is not to present every model as equally current; it is to help a reader understand what each instrument is, where its information comes from, how its features differ, and which ownership or support route may fit the requirement.
For shoppers in Goregaon and Mumbai, buyers elsewhere in India, and learners using online piano lessons, the same practical questions often follow: which model is current, what should be checked on an older instrument, can it be bought pre-owned, can a digital piano be rented, and where should repair or maintenance be handled?

The Yamaha Music Store India listing currently shows the Dark Rosewood CLP-845R with a listed MRP of ₹242,990 inclusive of taxes at the time this guide was checked.

Pre-owned pathway
For an older model, condition, service history, keys, pedals and electronics matter as much as the asking price.
Used-market reference →Because Yamaha currently marks the CLP-765GP discontinued, readers looking for one should verify whether a listing is used, refurbished, old stock or otherwise available through a third party before treating it as a current model.

The CLP-S308 is an older slimline Clavinova model documented in Yamaha's manual library. Yamaha's manual lists an 88-key Natural Wood keyboard for the CLP-S308, 128-note maximum polyphony, 14 voices, three pedals and a 430 mm depth. Buying a Yamaha Clavinova in Mumbai or India
For a current model such as the CLP-845R, start with the current Yamaha Music Store India listing and then verify the exact finish, delivery area, installation terms, tax-inclusive price, offers and final stock status. The current listing observed during research shows the CLP-845R Dark Rosewood at ₹242,990 inclusive of taxes.
For the CLP-765GP and CLP-S308, buying research is different because both are older models. A third-party listing does not by itself mean the model is currently supported as a new product by Yamaha. Check serial number, ownership history, service record, key action, pedals, speakers, ports and cabinet condition.
Model & generation
Confirm the exact model name and whether the listing is new, used, refurbished or old stock.
Playing condition
Test every key, pedal, headphone output, speakers, buttons and display or control interface.
Service history
Ask about previous repairs, replaced components and any known electronic or key-action issues.
Logistics
Digital pianos are heavy. Confirm transport, installation, stairs, lift access and delivery responsibilities.

Pre-owned research is especially relevant for the CLP-765GP and CLP-S308. For any older digital piano, condition can vary significantly between units, so the article should direct readers toward inspection rather than relying on a model name alone.
- Verify the exact model and serial number.
- Test every key at different velocities and listen for uneven output.
- Check all three pedals, including half-pedal behavior where supported.
- Test headphone, USB and MIDI connections where applicable.
- Inspect cabinet, key tops, bench, hinges and pedal hardware.
- Ask about transport history, servicing and previous repairs.

Can a Yamaha Digital Piano Be Rented? What About Repair?
Rental availability is model- and inventory-dependent, especially for large cabinet digital pianos. Readers in Mumbai should enquire directly about current stock, rental period, deposit, delivery, installation and damage/return conditions rather than assuming every Clavinova model is available for rent.
For older Clavinovas, repair and maintenance are equally important. Ask the service provider whether they support the exact model and whether parts or diagnosis are available for the instrument's generation.
